3. Emphasis on historical scholarship: critical of the biblical record.

4. Seeks a ground of certainty more ultimate than that which can be found in historical scholarship.

5. Concludes that knowledge of G is not a knowledge of historical facts, but in the values discerned in those facts.

Sin is not a legal category, not transgression of law.

Sin is actually an abuse of freedom form ignorance; it disturbs the proper relaiton btween

Archetype of ethical exellence:  morally better.

Theology is application

Without a clear creator-creature distinction, grace is unintelligible

Emphasis on intellectual and moral autonomy center

Immanence of G emphasized: transcendence is found in the fact/value dichotomy
