• His main argument for the existence of G was a restatement of the Anselm's ontological argument. And cogito ergo sum had been put forward by Augustine.
• Cartesian worldview symbolizes a retreat into the individual thinking as the one sure starting point of authority.
• Questions touched by D set the agenda for continental rationalism, British empiricism and even today.
