The internal (effective) call

 

The Ordo Salutis

(redemption applied or subjective soteriology)

The Ordo salutis is not referring to one consistent criterion:

·         Temporal priority(effectual calling and glorification)

·         Causal priority (regeneration and faith)

·         instruments to object (faith to justification)

·         Simultaneous (justification and adoption)

--> therefore, it is mainly a pedagogical device

 

 I. the internal (effectual) calling

·         'Calling' in the B:

·         Vocation, the position in which he has placed you

·         The universal proclamation of the gospel

3.     God sovereignly summons the erect into fellowship with Christ

 

b.     It's nature

1.     It is work of G the F (Acts 16:14)

2.     Ultimately, calling is into fellowship with Christ(union with Christ). (1Co 1:9)

--> So, in effectual calling, G acts on us first, before we offer him any response.
