Foundation of Mission and Evangelism
Perspectives
1. The living God is a Missionary God, John R. W. Stott
The living God is a missionary God. Because He blessed Abraham and his all descendants through the Abraham's seed; Jesus Christ, by faith. And the earth's families will be blessed only if we go to them with the gospel. I confirmed again what God had done for me through Jesus Christ of my only savior.
2. Israel's Missionary call, Walter C. Kaiser, Jr
The gospel, encapsulated in Genesis 12:1-3, and the call to be a holy nation and a royal priesthood set us for proclaiming the gospel in the days ahead for the glory of God. We show the gospel to the end of the earth, it is our definition.
3. Everyone's Question : What is God Trying to Do?, Stanley A. Ellisen
Christ as the Lion and Lamb, he will fulfill the God's kingdom and Redemptive programs as a sacrificial lamb and he has the kingly authority. We should give him a glory for that God's plan that unified strategy.
4. The Bible in World Evangelization, John R. W. Sttot
Bible gives the mandate for world evangelization, message for world evangelization, model for world evangelization and power or world evangelization to us. Without the bible world evangelization is impossible. I realized that Bible is so important all the missionary and preacher.
5. The story of His Glory, Steven C. Hawthorne
We need a grasp Glory, the name of God and worship. God wants to receive the Glory, so he reveals his Glory to the nations. He loves this love through worship. That is we give him glory
6. The Biblical Foundation for the Worldwide Missions Mandate, Johannes Verkuyl
The Book of Jonah has no conclusion, and the final question of the book has no answer, except from the one who realizes the fullness of the mercy of God and who factually and not just mythically accomplishes the salvation of the world. The motif of Antagonism with the doxological theme, God will show his people and to know him.
7. Let the Nations be glad!, John Piper
Missions I not the ultimate goal of the church. Worship is!! Missions exists because worship doesn't. Worship is ultimate, not missions, because God is ultimate. I think this effective explanation is the best definition.
8. Mandate on the Mountain, Steven C. Hawthorne
Matthew 28:18-20, Mnadate on the Mountain written also to us. God has been given to Jesus everything(all authority), go to a people group(all nations), make disciples(all that I commanded), watch for him(all the days).
9. Europe's Moravians : A pioneer Missionary church, Colin A. Grant
They called United Brethren, they have left a record without parallel in the post-New Testament era of world evangelization. They engaged the mission as a responsibility of the church as a whole, instead of leaving it to societies or specially interested people.
10. Culture, worldview and contextualization, Charles H. Kraft
Contextualization was so important Paul's method.(Acts 15) Culture and worldview is not far away but is connected and to be respected. Contextualized church is appropriate church. mission needs understanding culture and worldview when we delivered gospel.
11. The Difference Bonding Makes, Elizabeth S. and E. Thomas Brewster
What is the implications of bonding for the missionary task as a missionary? He or she proclaims that God wants to invite people be affiliated with Him. And I agreed that the concept of bonding implies a bi-cultural individual with a healthy self-image. This concept will be help the missionary as a first step.
12. The Willowbank Report, the Lausanne Committee for world evangelization
All of mission activity influenced by culture, writing and the reading of the bible, presentaion of the gospel, conversion, church and conduct. This report define the culture.
