(P13) worship is serve God, it is the correct start. And the heart of all biblical religion is God-centeredness, it is worship. So many times I missed this means in worship. Every time I need God centeredness worship.

 

2. Theology of Worship in the Old Testament, Yoshiaki Hattory

(p50) Old Testament is different from other cultic religions. The Israelites worshipped a God who was the only God, a personal God who intervened in history(the God of the covenant). And finally there is no image of God. I think history always explain that what God has done for His people.

(p52) Worship is describing our engagement with God through faith in Jesus Christ and What he has done for us. (p90) Jesus has inaugurated the new covenant, with its promise of a renewed relationship with God. So I need to seek that Who is Jesus at the every chapter in bible. And God has done for me.

(p96) New testament and Paul emphasis on the broader concept of worship. Also Calvin, Heidelberg Catechism and Abraham Kuyper are emphasis on sanctification with that broad conception. That concept is ‘all of life is worship’. I think that ‘all of life is worship’ mind help me close to Jesus.

(p 111) Presbyterian worship is for Soli Deo Gloria, God’s sake, not our sake. (p118)And It is  reflection of the covenant theology of Scripture. Also it required discipline in the Church. (p 120) And final character has been the place given to the care of the poor.

(p 123) The outstanding characteristic of Anglicanism is its tradition of congregational worship. What is the congregational worship? Why Anglican church stressed it? And why the prayer book was so important?
